The closure of the Chemistry department at Bangor is purely due to University incompetence and short-sightedness.
The Welsh language has nothing to do with the closure, and Neil - the myth of locals swap into Welsh in the presence of English speakers is just a myth. None of the hundreds of Welsh speakers I know have ever done this.
