- The UK’s Engineering and Physical Research Council (EPSRC) invites proposals for feasibility studies into science and engineering aimed at tackling energy research challenges. Projects last up to 18 months. Deadline: 12 June 2007
- The Department of Trade and Industry invites applications for its spring Technology Programme. Typical projects will receive ?500 000 - ?2 million. The funding will go to proposals for applied R&D in areas such as energy technologies, lightweight materials, and advanced manufacturing. Deadline: 11 June 2007
- The RSC invites applications for the JWT Jones travelling fellowships to promote international collaboration in chemistry. Awards are up to ?5000 and last up to three months. Deadline: 1 July 2007
- The RSC invites nominations for the Hickinbottom fellowship available to researchers in organic chemistry who hold a PhD or equivalent, are working in a chemistry department in the UK and are no more than 36 years of age. Deadline: 30 June 2007
- The Carbon Trust invites proposals for its applied research grants to support commercialisation of technology with the potential to reduce UK carbon dioxide emissions and support progress of low carbon technologies towards large scale deployment. Funding is worth up to ?250 000 per project. Deadline: applications accepted between 11 June and 17 August
