In this case, I see Sci-huB as Robin Hood and the publishing industry as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Scientists write grants to fund the research, do the research, pay to publish, volunteer to peer review, and then get charged to read the articles. Meanwhile large publishers pulling profit margins of around 30% while barely doing any copy editing (according to an expert I recently heard talk on the subject). For comparison, companies like Apple and Google pull in 8-11% profit. The publishers need to change their business practices if they want to stop piracy. The music industry tried to fight piracy with lawsuits and it didn't work. What reduced piracy in that industry was affordable access to streaming music service.
