Next year the UNESCO is going to celebrate the Year Of the Periodic Table. It is so good to see some blogs on the history of the Periodic Table in your magazine.
Dimitri used to play with cards with names of the elements and the properties.After many attempts he noticed the PERIODICITY of properties of certain group of elements. He was a close associate of a Sanskrit professor who `wrote a book on the ancient Indian grammarian called Panini. Sanskrit has two dimensional sounds. This inspired Mendeleev and led to the his momentous discovery.
