Guillermo Restrepo
Guillermo Restrepo is a researcher at the Institute for Studies of Science, Bielefeld University, and the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, Germany. He is also editor-in-chief of Theory in Biosciences. His research lies at the intersection of chemistry, mathematics and the history of science. He develops mathematical and computational approaches to study chemical space and the evolution of chemical knowledge, with particular interests in networks, hypergraphs and dynamical systems. His work explores how mathematical representations can capture the structure of molecules and reactions and reveal patterns in how chemists explore and expand chemical space.

OpinionStop drawing lies: Why chemistry needs hypergraphs
Guillermo Restrepo reflects on the limitations of how we currently draw molecules and calls on chemists to adopt a system that better illustrates their complexity
