US authorities start to take action on cannabidiol additives

The fashion of adding cannabidiol or CBD to food and drink for health-conscious consumers could be about to grind to a halt in the US. CBD- infused coffee and baked goods is a fad right now because the compound is not psychoactive but can supposedly relieve pain relief and help people relax. However, authorities in several US states are now cracking down on cafes and restaurants that sell food or drinks containing CBD. This follows a December statement from the US Food and Drug Administration that it is unlawful to introduce CBD into food.
