Bluestar Silicones opens expanded site in York, South Carolina

Are you looking for a silicones R&D job in South Carolina, US? You might be in luck – Bluestar Silicones has just opened a new R&D centre there. The company, part of chemical group China National Bluestar, says it is aiming to become ‘a significant player in the silicones industry’ by doubling sales over the next five years. Thus, it has moved activities at its two North American manufacturing sites in Ventura, California, and Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the new – much larger – site in York, which will now house all the researchers under one roof.

According to local TV station WBTV the company has shifted the 17 researchers at Rock Hill to York without a hitch but the 34 Ventura researchers have been more reluctant – 17 have made the move. Blue Star Silicones has 90 employees at the York site, but it is looking to increase that number by 20 over the next three years.
