Parthasarathi Chakraborty

Parthasarathi Chakraborty is a professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) and head of the Centre for Oceans, Rivers, Atmosphere and Land Sciences. He is a biogeochemist recognised for his research on trace and toxic metal speciation in natural, coastal and marine environments. He has received several national and international honors, including the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology (2018), National Geoscience Award (2013), M S Krishnan Medal (2015), IAGC Kharaka Award (US, 2017), and a recent International Award (2025) from the American Geophysical Union (AGU).
