When we began using commercial antibiotics, pennicillin, it was forecast that we would cause a change in the biosphere eventually leading to the ineffectiveness of those types of antibiotic. We are seeing that now. Mutability & resistance in viruses is gaining rapidly in some areas. The answer given is to apply more vaccines. Are we not on a similar path? The arguments against some vaccines & combos aside, aren't we setting the stage to facilitate viral resistance and helping create "super viruses" that will lead to a collapse of current vaccines? Not in 100 years, but in a potentially much shorter time, owing to the rise in viral boosting conditions? The no-holds-barred pursuit of these vaccines should coincide with research to replace and discontinue them. If we had started working on what we were going to do "after antibiotics" when we started them, we might be closer to the next paradigm now.
