How can this be considered as "sustainable"? Even just the capture, and considering the best case scenario, as stated here, that "recent advances are bringing" [so optimistic and not yet achieved?] the energetic costs of capture down to 2.5GJ/tonne of CO2, this is tremendous energy. The amount of CO2 released by burning a tonne of coal is ca. 2.86 tonnes. So to capture a tonne of CO2 you are saying that you have to burn an extra tonne of coal!?
Please don't suggest the old chestnut "...if we get the energy from renewables" then it is sustainable, because this is just not feasible.
