While I enjoyed the recent article "Talking Heads" regarding leadership of chemistry departments in the UK (and presumably elsewhere as well), I do note the absence of any mention of laboratory safety or gender equality - certainly two of (if not their most important) roles as a successful chemistry department head. If we are to believe there is stress and angst in chemistry department leadership roles, we should also see some of these additional stressors in the context of leadership.
