The last sentence in the paragraph next to the second photo should read "The cans were placed on or near the water’s surface to simulate oil trapped under or in the ice in the helicopter test. The coil functioned symmetricly, above and below it, so oil was placed above it, as shown at right, when the helicopter was not available to move the coil off the platform for us to gain access to the spaces under the coil."
