As AZ leaves, Alderley Park will become an incubator for small companies

A new biotechnology incubator is being established on AstraZeneca’s (AZ) site in Alderley Park, Cheshire, UK. The first three companies have already moved in, and more will hopefully follow to fill the space left by AZ as it relocates to Cambridge, UK.

The BioHub will be managed by BioCity, which also takes care of similar incubators in Nottingham and Newhouse, Scotland. The first tenants are Redx Anti-infectives – a new division of Liverpool-based Redx Pharma; Blueberry Therapeutics – a small company founded by ex-AstraZeneca employees; and high-throughput microscopy assay specialists Imagen biotech.
