EU restores Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ funding to Hungary

The change is linked to former prime minister Viktor Orbán’s landslide defeat in April and subsequent reforms by the new government
The EU has unlocked €4.2 billion in EU funding for Hungary that had been blocked for nearly four years over corruption concerns involving former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The decision, announced on 13 October, restores the access of Hungarian students and researchers to the Horizon Europe research programme and Erasmus+ student exchanges programmes.
