The Royal Society of Chemistry gave members access to the Knovel library

The Knovel service the RSC has provided is exceptional! Congratulations. At last RSC membership is delivering something of real practical benefit to the practising chemists in the country. I almost justify my RSC subscription simply in terms of access to this resource, such is its value to me. Please do what you can to maintain this service into the future. It is the first practical step to make the kind of reference resource provided by the RSC library available to those who are a long way from the hardcopy resource in London.

Ed. The Knovel service, which is still offered to Royal Society of Chemistry members, combines essential and authoritative reference books and databases from more than 30 sci-tech publishers and professional societies including John Wiley, Elsevier, Springer, Industrial Press, American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Since 2004 there have been a number of enhancements to the service. In 2010, My Knovel was introduced to allow users to customise their workspace, and in 2013 a new cloud-based Knovel platform was launched, with simpler search capability and improved discoverability of content.
