Third of journal board resigns over the now-deleted manuscript that chemists say reflects widespread bias in publishing and research

now-deleted essay in Wiley’s Angewandte Chemie arguing that diversity actually harms organic synthesis research has sparked indignation and outrage among chemists. Sixteen of the journal’s 44 international advisory board members have now resigned and the community has been left questioning how the manuscript was peer reviewed and then published in one of the highest profile chemistry journals.
